Moral Matters in Medicine is a collection of articles that were written some years ago on topical issues in medicine. Many of these continue to be relevant to the challenges we face today. The idea of this site is to encourage people to think about ethical issues that may affect their daily lives. Each article was based on a health story of the week and my aim was to offer perspective on the ethical issues that arose in these situations.
The idea for this website came from a common misconception I encountered that ethical issues had no place in people's daily lives. While we all live and make decisions within a legal framework, ethical thinking and argument is important to enable us to consider various points of view and make the best decisions we can within the law.
